I have been a guide for a little over 4 years. I predominantly fish the Everglades and 10,000 Islands out of Everglades City and also available to fish near Sanibel, Pine Island, and Charlotte Harbor.
My father Steve has been a full time fishing guide since 1968 and is in the IGFA Hall of Fame and my brother Dustin has been a full time fishing guide in the Florida Keys since 1995.
I sight fished my first tarpon at age 6. My brother and I got our first boat in 1978 at the age of 8 and we would explore the flats around Marathon. We got our first flats skiff when I was 1983 and used to take it across Florida Bay to Flamingo and Cape Sable by ourselves. I caught my first Bonefish on fly by myself in 1984.
In 1984 we also started coming to Chokoloskee to explore the Everglades. I fell in love with that untouched wilderness. When I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering I moved to Fort Myers so I could be close to the Everglades and could feed my passion for learning its secrets. When my oldest son Zachary got old enough I started sharing my passion for fishing and the Everglades with him.
My passion only grew from those experiences. We would fish almost every weekend until he graduated from high school in 2017. As he was getting ready to leave for school in Gainesville, I realized that fishing and sharing my passion was where my true love lied. I decided then to retire from Electrical Engineering and start guiding full time.
